BackCare's branch in Dorset (Dorchester Branch)
Dorchester and District BackCare (DDBC) meet quarterly in the Children's Centre, Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester.
The entrance to the Children's Centre is the first turning on the right, after the traffic lights, on Damers Road. The meetings are held in the mornings, between 10.00am and 12.30pm, when anyone can drop in as they please.
Local membership is £5 per year, with a charge of £1 for each meeting attended. National members do not need to pay the meeting charge. Refreshments are provided.
The branch has a selection of books, on pain management, exercises and dietary advice, plus a selection of Magnatherapy devices, which the members may borrow. It also arranges meals out and other social events.
Anyone who has problems with their back, or any other skeletal or muscular problem, plus carers and those who wish to prevent future back problems is welcome.
Help is also available for anyone who needs to complete benefits application forms.
