Online self management programme for people with persistent pain
Online Pain Management Programme
The Real Health Institute are developing an online self management programme for people with persistent pain called 'Pathway through Pain', and have 20 trial places on the online programme available.
The RealHealth Institute is an independent healthcare company that offers expert advice and treatment for back pain and other pain problems. The Institute is staffed by a multidiscplinary team of experts in pain and its management, and delivers its treatment from purpose designed centres in London, Coventry and Nijmegen in Holland.
Our treatments are based on three principles:
- They have been proven to help (research evidence of effectiveness)
- They focus on rehabilitation
- They are delivered by a multidisciplinary team (doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, nurses, occupational therapists and sport therapists)
The aims of our programmes include:
- Improved quality of life
- Reduced pain and tiredness
- Ability to do more without increasing the pain
- Learn that becoming and keeping active doesn’t equal harm
- Reduce feelings of isolation and depression
- Increase confidence and self esteem
- Improve relationships with family, friends, carers, medical professionals and work colleagues
- Reduce visits to health care professionals and time off work
If you are suffering from persistent pain, and would be interested in taking part in the 'Pathway through Pain' trial, please contact BackCare in the first instance.
(You will need a computer with broadband internet access and computer audio speakers to use the online programme.)
